November 21, 2023Last year Beta unveiled their plans to enter the 2024 AMA Monster Energy Supercross series, and earlier this year they made headlines when they announced their signing of 2021 250 SX East Coast Champion Colt Nichols. According to industry insiders, Beta has been aggressively making moves to try and make an immediate splash in the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship, including purchasing a $1.5M race truck and setting an aggressive race budget. The last piece of the puzzle was finally revealed last week when Beta revealed the machine that Colt Nichols and Benny Bloss will be on board during the upcoming season, the all-new 450 RX. If you're a passionate Supercross fan, it’s hard not to get excited about new brands entering the ring and heavily investing in the sport.
Brief History of Beta Motocross Bikes
Beta first started building off-road motorcycles in Italy in the 1960s. Since then they have primarily focused on the enduro and trials markets, and therefore have only competed in those respective race series. In the early 2021, they introduced their 300 RX in the USA. The 300 RX is a 300cc 2-Stroke designed for motocross, with a 19-inch rear tire, and redesigned cylinder head, crankshaft, and transmission from their 300 RR model. It also received Michelin Starcross tires and KYB suspension in 2023 as Beta fine-tuned their motocross machine. The KYB suspension replaced the previous ZF suspension and provided more travel and has improved comfort according to many test riders.
Around the same time Beta released their 300 RX, they began to work on the first prototypes of the 450 RX. They have taken some of what they have learned over the years with their 300 RX, and now Beta seems eager to unveil the latest addition to their supercross and motocross line with their all new 2024 450 RX.
