Harry "Ott" Wilson standing out front of Ben Bresee's Harley Davidson

Wilson’s Beta is owned and operated by the Wilson family in California’s Central Valley. One of the oldest motorcycling families in the U.S., Harry “Ott” Wilson began his motorcycle career as a mechanic at Ben Bresee’s Harley Davidson in Fresno, CA in the early 1900s. Shortly after, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during WWI where he served as the supervisor of the Army’s motorcycle repair division in France. After his return from France, he returned to Bresee’s Harley Davidson but shortly after, Bresee was killed in a motorcycle accident and the shop was left to Ott to run. Ott later went on to open Wilson’s Harley Davidson of Fresno in 1919 and the Wilson family has been a staple in the Central California motorcycle scene ever since.

In the 1950s, Ott transitioned from Harley Davidsons to Triumph, and later brought on brands such as AJS and Matchless, as well as Bultaco, CZ, and Husqvarna in the years following. Ott’s sons Doug and Butch also began working at the shop as soon as they were able to. Butch would find success racing, and Doug would become a local legend in the motorcycle world. As the years went on, Wilsons entered the Japanese motorcycle market by becoming one of the first Kawasaki dealers in the U.S. We expanded on this market later by adding Yamaha to the ranks.

In 2006, Doug’s son Bob would take over the local Honda and Suzuki dealership in Madera where Wilsons Powersports has been since. Both of Bob’s sons Tyler and Kyle work at the shop, making them the fourth-generation Wilsons in the motorcycle industry. In 2019, Wilson’s added Beta Motorcycles to our lineup and have been selling Beta motorcycles and accessories ever since.

As the years of selling Beta products went on, it became more and more apparent that the options for buyers to find Beta-specific parts and accessories were limited. Thus, with the goal of creating one centralized website that specialized in compiling parts and accessories that specifically fit Beta motorcycles, the idea for Wilsons Beta began.
